Wookies are a hairy bipedal species found in the Star Wars universe, native to the mid-rim planet of Kashyyyk. They appear in Star Wars: Republic Commando as well as the Republic Commando novel series.
Wookies, as depicted in Republic commando, are colossal in size compared to that of a human, but also very strong, capable of grabbing a Super Battle Droid off the ground and smashing it to bits. They are also very durable against blaster fire, but not invulnerable, as when overwhelmed they will be killed.
They helped liberate their homeworld from Separatist control during the final months of the clone wars. They fought beside Delta squad during their missions too.
Some were armed with bowcasters, while others were simply barehanded in combat.
Trandoshans and Wookies are also long time enemies, as the Trandoshans ravaged and enslaved them for centuries.
